Children's Classes

classes + children's Worship

We offer children's classes from 10-10:50 every Sunday morning from September through July. Classes include age-specific Bible stories, songs and crafts. To ensure the safety and security of our children, we ask that parents check in and check out each child on The City, which is located at the kiosk located in the toddler nursery or upstairs near the elementary classrooms. Your child will receive a nametag and claim ticket to use at pick up. Each class is explained in more detail below.

For children age 4 through kindergarten, we offer Children’s Worship. Children's Worship is based on Godly Play, a Montessori-based curriculum, and is a time when children ages 4 through kindergarten gather for worship through song, Bible stories and response time (responding to the story through art or creative play). It occurs each week during the offertory and sermon portions of the worship service. Children are also welcome to remain with their parents throughout the service.

Each fall, preschoolers work through Old Testament stories, and each spring New Testament based on the Show Me Jesus curriculum. They also do crafts, sing songs and share prayer requests weekly. The 3s and 4/5s classes meet in room 160, the Children's Worship room next to the nursery.

Preschool CT&T (ages 3-5): During June and July, preschoolers will journey to “Camp Catechism,” as we continue to learn about God’s character and theological truths using the simple language of First Catechism. For those who attended last summer and learned Q/As 1-9, we’ll learn 10-20 this summer (and for those who didn’t attend -- no problem!). Each week will include songs, crafts, and puppets. We’ll need at least five volunteers to help each week (lesson plan provided ahead of time). Please contact Nikki Reed [nikki@] to volunteer, or look for an email sign-up soon.

This fall, kindergarten-3rd grade elementary students will begin a new four-year chronological journey through the Bible using The Gospel Project curriculum. An app is available for parents who’d like to reinforce the weekly lesson at home. 4th-5th grade elementary students have spent the last four years on an extended journey through the Bible. This year, they’ll be summarizing the big picture using Echo the Story curriculum as a springboard. All elementary students meet in the classrooms upstairs by the Redeemer staff offices.

All K-3rd kids start in room 203 and will split into small groups mid-hour.
K-1st will be picked up from 205, 2nd-3rd will be picked up from 203
4th-5th meets in room 207.

Elementary CT&T (ages K-4th grade grads): During June and July, elementary-age children will study creation care (piggy-backing on this summer’s adult study) using crafts, games, and music. For more information, please contact Hidi Gardner [hidi.].

Communicant Class (3rd-5th grade grads): This class prepares kids to become communing members, which means they are able to begin taking the Lord’s Supper during the worship service. While we will spend the bulk of our time studying topics covering creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, we will also specifically study each of the five membership questions. Please contact Todd Dawkins [] to sign up your child for this class or if you might have any questions regarding our communicant process at Redeemer.

Summer Children’s Worship (ages 4-K): During June and July we’ll take a break from traditional Children’s Worship and focus on creation care each week. We’ll need three adults and one youth helper to lead/assist in each service each week (lesson plan provided ahead of time). Please contact Nikki Reed to volunteer.

Summer Vacation Bible School (ages K-4th grade grads): Register today! Redeemer and Fountain Square youth are hosting the VBS program Galactic Starveyors on July 17-20 from 9:30 am-noon here at Redeemer. Registration forms are available at the elementary check-in stations. Also, see for online registration option and a VBS donation needs/sign-up genius. For adults interested in volunteering and any other questions, contact Todd Dawkins (

Special Needs

At Redeemer, we want all children to feel welcome and to be able to participate in children’s classes and worship services. We desire to partner with parents to find the best ways to include all children. Buddies build a relationship with and provide assistance to children who need additional help to participate in class. There are also sensory resources available for use during class and service times.

Youth Ministry disciples, equips, and motivates our students to be ministers of the Gospel, ready and eager to do Christ’s Kingdom work. Youth Ministry is for Middle and High Schoolers. We meet on Sunday mornings for classes and Sunday evening for large and small group activities. We have ministries and activities for both middle school (6th - 8th grade) and high school (9th - 12th grade). Youth from Redeemer Presbyterian Church and our daughter church, Fountain Square Presbyterian, meet together.  See our events page for any special events for youth. Please contact Caroline Tait for more information about Youth Ministry at Redeemer.
