Nathan Partain

Pastor of Worship + Culture

nathan@redeemindy.org

Nathan leads our musicians in arranging and writing music, as well as supporting the leading of our community of artists to add layers and richness to the different seasons of our worship life throughout the year. He sees his job as “guardian of the worship of God” at Redeemer, that it remains centered on Jesus, and takes joy in giving permission to all the “peculiar honors” that can be brought in worship through God’s redeemed people through creative works.

He has been writing and playing music since the age of 13, began playing music professionally in his late teens, and has been ministering in worship since 1999. His primary music influences came from outside the church and he continues to seek what it means to bring his musical upbringing to serve the church in congregational worship.

Nathan and Sarah, both originally from Nashville, Tennessee, have been married since 2001 and have three kids. Nathan grew up in a predominantly Christian culture but didn’t really engage personally with Jesus until he was nineteen when his heart for God and hunger for the word really ignited. He has a deep heart for expressing the raw human experience of living before God in the full grace of Jesus.
