Have you ever wondered, • What beliefs make Redeemer different from other churches? • How does Redeemer choose its leaders? • Why does Redeemer share its building with other organizations? • How long does it take before I actually get to know people around here? • What’s this “thin place” they’re always talking about? • What does it mean to be a member at Redeemer?
All of these questions are addressed in our Discovering Redeemer class. While the class is a prerequisite for membership, it is also a setting designed for those who simply want to know more about what makes Redeemer unique. There is no assumption that you will pursue becoming a member, but the class is a crucial step for those who will.
The Discover Redeemer class is a place to learn about Redeemer’s history, structure, and vision. It is also a great place to connect with others, meet some church leadership, and find out more about ways to grow and to serve in this community. Of course, the class also lays out the process of becoming a member, for those interested in next steps.
At Redeemer, we want everyone to feel like they belong. That said, we believe that membership is a special opportunity for the church to make promises and commit to loving one another through thick and thin, through sweet times and challenges – all to the end of loving and becoming more like Jesus.
Classes meet on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. A light meal is provided both days. Our next class is scheduled for this weekend, March 13-14. If you are interested, please contact Kate Ghormley at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP to RSVP for the March class or to express interest in the April class (April 10-11).
We’re excited to spend time with you, as you experience and learn more about the Redeemer community.
