Each year Redeemer designates money that we receive above the budgeted income to organizations outside the church. This year, we will be giving the first $50,000 of our stretch goal to our partner ministries to encourage them in the work of mercy and justice. Project Love, a food pantry run by Horizon Christian Fellowship, is one of Redeemer’s partner ministries. Here’s how they would use their portion:
Project Love would love to use funds to fill in their budget. Here is a look at how their money is spent, giving you an idea of how the additional fund would be used. Project Love may apportion the funds according to this breakdown, or they may use it to round out an area that didn't quite get enough funding. Either way, you can see it will be put to great use!
40%: Food acquisition from retail stores & agency partners such as Gleaners
25% : Vehicle maintenance & support - fuel cost and repair
15% : Equipment maintenance and acquisition
15% : Tithing and utility cost - Project Love uses a great deal of electricity for their large amount of refrigeration so they feel it is important to provide Horizon Christian Fellowship with monthly support of utility cost. They also include a 10% tithe for janitorial and ongoing maintenance.
5% : Room renovation; painting , new shelving ., etc...
