In the Presbyterian denomination, we have the privilege of voting for our church officers. On November 22 (delayed from October due to a season of busyness!), Redeemer members will be able to vote to elect candidates for the role of Ruling Elder. These candidates were nominated in January and have been going through training ever since. This is an important role in the church and we encourage all of our members to spend deliberate time in prayer about the election process. What is a Ruling Elder?
Ruling Elders (See: I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-7) are men who, by God’s grace, are called and ordained to direct the affairs of the church (leading and caring for the congregation). This includes shepherding; prayer; providing ministry leadership and oversight; and teaching.
Who are we considering for this role?
Ryan Brumbaugh, Josh Plemon, and Ben Reed are all being put forward to the congregation for consideration for the role of Ruling Elder. Please take time to be in thoughtful prayer over these men and the upcoming election.
For those of you who don't know Ryan, Josh, or Ben, they will be in the welcome center this Sunday following First Service.
