We're highlighting our prayer ministries this month as we focus on praying for Young Life as they head off to camp in a few weeks and each other, as there are many needs in our congregation. Read below to find out about the various prayer ministries in our church and how you can get involved.
Redeemer seeks to to be a praying church. The prayer ministry at Redeemer nurtures a culture of prayer at Redeemer. Each prayer team carries out a part of the life of prayer we want to have as a church. Our prayer coordinators meet quarterly to align our efforts and to be encouraged in the ministry of prayer. Members of our prayer team receive training and encouragement through quarterly training lunches.
If you have questions about the prayer ministry or would like to get more information on how to join one of these teams please contact the Prayer Ministry Coordinator, Mary Howard, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mary Howard Communion Prayer Coordinator The communion prayer team prays for people during communion. This is a special time to rejoice with people who are rejoicing and to weep with people who are weeping. If you have a heart to minister the grace of Christ to people during prayer this is a great team to join.
Renata Jackson Boiler Room Prayer Coordinator The boiler room prayer team meets in the prayer room next to the stage in the Underground during the 1st service and many of the 2nd services each Sunday. Worship is a critical to who we are and who we are becoming so the team prays for worshippers and worship leaders, whom we can hear above our heads, as the service unfolds. During the sermon we ask God to work in and through ministries within and outside of Redeemer. Come join us and let’s see what God will do in response to our united prayers!
Barb Knuckles Ministry Prayer Coordinator Ministry prayer, or healing prayer, is a new prayer team rooted in Jesus’ Kingdom work in Isaiah 61. Its focus is to minister to people in the places where they are stuck, to “carry” them to Jesus and ask him to do what’s needed to free them to move forward. If you have a heart to pray for people in broken places and if you long to see Jesus glorified in his healing grace in people’s lives, this is a great team to join. (We will train and practice together so don’t be hindered from exploring this team by lack of experience.)
Dan Gutwein and Tom Waitt Pray for Peace This June - July we have launched an eight week pilot to pray for. The class meets in our Prayer Room at 10:00 am next to the stage in the Underground. If you have a heart to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, you may want to join this 8 week pilot.
