Our household worship over the next 8 weeks will be focused on God’s fulfillment of His promise to send a Savior into the world. We will be looking at how Matthew’s good news of Jesus Christ the Messiah fulfills the prophesies and promises of the Old Testament Scriptures.
Monday, December 1 Scripture: Matthew 1:1-6 & Genesis 12:1-9 Song: Thou who Wast Rich vs. 1 pg.3 Prayer: Praise God that he was faithful to fulfill his promises to Abraham.
Tuesday, December 2 Scripture: Matthew 1:1-2 & Genesis 38 Song: Thou who Wast Rich vs. 2 pg.3 Prayer: Thank God that he saves by grace and is able to bring His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ into the world through broken families ( just like ours).
Wednesday, December 3 Scripture: Matthew 1:5 & Ruth 1 Song: Thou who Wast Rich vs. 3 pg.3 Prayer: Praise God that His love and grace extend to Gentiles (like us) as we see in the story of Ruth and Boaz. Thank Jesus that He is our kinsman redeemer.
Thursday, December 4th Scripture: Matthew 1:6 & II Samuel 11 Song: Savior of the Nations Come vs.1-2 pg.4 Prayer: Praise God that His salvation is by grace as we see in the story of David’s sin against Uriah and Bathsheba.
Friday, December 5th Scripture: Matthew 1:6-12 and 2 Samuel 7 Song: Savior of the Nations Come vs.3-4 pg.4 Prayer: Praise God that through Jesus Christ he has fulfilled His promises to David of establishing a King and an everlasting kingdom.
Saturday, December 6th Scripture: Matthew 1:12-17 Song: Savior of the Nations Come vs.5 pg.4 Prayer: Praise God that the promises He made through the prophets were fulfilled: that exiled Israel would be restored to the promised land, that a Savior would come and live and die for God’s people.
