Our household worship this week is focused on Scripture’s teaching on righteousness as it is set forth in the book of Romans.
Monday, March 23rd Scripture: Romans 1, meditate on 1:17 Song: Come Holy Spirit, God and Lord vs. 1-2 pg. 2 Prayer: Praise God that the gospel is about a righteousness that comes to us from God and not one that is earned by or generated from ourselves.
Tuesday, March 24th Scripture: Romans 2, meditate on 2:16 Song: Come Holy Spirit, God and Lord vs. 3-4 pg. 2 Prayer: Acknowledge that God knows the secrets of all of our hearts and that both religious and irreligious people will stand before His righteous judgment. Accept his verdict that all our sinners in His sight.
Wednesday, March 25th Scripture: Romans 3, meditate on 3:21-26 Song: My Hope is Built on Nothing Less vs. 1-2 pg. 4 Prayer: Rejoice that though you are a sinner God has given you the righteousness of Christ. Glory in that this is a free gift that you did not earn and cannot loose.
Thursday, March 26th Scripture: Romans 4, meditate on 4:4-7 Song: My Hope is Built on Nothing Less vs. 3-4 pg. 4 Prayer: Rest in the good news that though you are wicked God has credited righteousness to you by faith.
Friday, March 27th Scripture: Romans 5, meditate on 5:6-8 Song: Nearer My God to Thee vs. 1-3 pg. 12 Prayer: Thank God and rejoice in His love for you in Jesus Christ. Rejoice that you did not earn God’s love, but God has proven His love for you in that at the very time you were a sinner, Christ died for you.
Saturday, March 28th Scripture: Romans 6, meditate on 6:15-18 Song: Nearer My God to Thee vs. 4-6 pg. 12 Prayer: Praise Jesus that he has set you free from slavery to sin and that He has made you slaves to righteousness.
