Our household worship over the next 8 weeks will be focused on God’s fulfillment of His promise to send a Savior into the world. We will be looking at how Matthew’s good news of Jesus Christ the Messiah fulfills the prophesies and promises of the Old Testament Scriptures.
Monday, December 15 Scripture: Matthew 2:1-6 Song: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen vs. 1 pg. 6 Prayer: Ask God the Great King and your Heavenly Father to give you a heart to seek for and serve and worship King Jesus like the Wise men did.
Tuesday, December 16 Scripture: Micah 5:2 Song: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen vs. 2 pg. 6 Prayer: Thank God that he fulfills all of His promises, and especially His promise to send a ruler to shepherd His people.
Wednesday, December 17 Scripture: Matthew 2:7-12 Song: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen vs. 3 pg. 6 Prayer: Pray to God that your hearts would be like the Magi worshipping Christ and offering yourself to Him in service. Ask God your Father to guard you from a heart like Herod who seeks to destroy Jesus the King and those made for the glory of the King.
Thursday, December 18 Scripture: Matthew 2:13-15 Song: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen vs. 4 pg. 6 Prayer: Thank God that Jesus Christ is the faithful son who fulfilled the worship and obedience owed to God that Israel could not.
Friday, December 19 Scripture: Hosea 11 Song: It Came Upon a Midnight Clear vs. 1-2 pg. 7 Prayer: Worship God your King and Father that His love for his people never fails. That even though Israel and we fail God and disobey God, He has sent His own Son Jesus Christ to be our representative, to live the life we should have lived, and die the death we should have died.
Saturday, December 20 Scripture: Matthew 2:16-18 Song: It Came Upon a Midnight Clear vs. 3-4 pg. 7 Prayer: Mourn the wickedness and evil in the world seen in Herod’s murder of the little boys in Bethlehem.
