City

Redeemer is an urban church, not by default but by design. We are committed to serving and renewing Indianapolis – socially, culturally, and spiritually – by a movement of the gospel. We believe that nothing promotes the peace and health of the city like the spread of faith in the gospel.

Gospel

The gospel is the good news that through Christ the power of God’s kingdom is renewing the whole world. When we apply the gospel to our life – by believing and relying on Jesus’ work and record (rather than ours) for our relationship to God – that kingdom power comes upon us and begins to work in and through us.

Community

The gospel creates a spiritual community united by the story of Jesus Christ (rather than race, gender, education, economics, or politics).  At the heart of this spiritual community is the worship of God and hospitality to our neighbor.

Social Healing

The gospel heals individuals and social structures at every level: physically, socially, psychologically, and spiritually. Therefore, we are committed to partnering with ministries of mercy and justice and to empowering Christians to live lives of hospitality, service, and social engagement.

Cultural Renewal

The gospel has a deep and vital impact on the arts, business, education, media, and government of the city. Therefore we are committed to engaging our culture by supporting Christians to work with excellence, distinctiveness, and accountability in their callings.

Movement Mindset

Planting new churches is the best way to spread the gospel. Therefore, we are committed to planting urban congregations and ministry sites that partner together to reweave the fabric of our neighborhoods.
