Around Redeemer: Beth & Bruce Coffman's Nicaragua Missions Trip
Beth and Bruce Coffman, if you don't already know them, are members of Redeemer's congregation with a strong heart for and calling to Nicaragua. They have two trips planned for this year: one in January and one in July.
Beth describes the itinerary for their winter trip:
We will be flying out January 30th from Indianapolis and staying in Managua overnight then going to Poneloya on Sunday. We will be spending the bulk of the week in Poneloya doing various activities. The winter trip focuses on the dispersion of funding for the local education of the children in the village. This is an exciting opportunity to meet with each family and see how the kids are doing in school. We will also be doing the feeding program which feeds 140 kids twice a week. We will also be doing a craft activity with the kids. Included in this busy week is working on the mission center. We need to repaint the outside and finish putting doors and windows on the interior so that it becomes functioning. Along with this activity we will be visiting the new homes that were built during the past 6 months. We will also include a food distribution to 70 families. All in all it is a busy, beautiful week. Bruce and I are asking for prayer during this long week. We pray that we would have the eyes to see, hands to do and heart open to what the Lord has in store for us. During this time a majority of the activity is located at the local church Agua Viva. Pastor Anabel is a mighty force...a strong woman of faith that keeps the village running. Please pray for her. Her daughter is getting married and that is a major transition for her. One of the biggest things we have learned about doing this work is that we may plan the week but God always changes the itinerary.
Please pray for Bruce & Beth as they travel to Nicaragua to serve and love the people there.
