Worship Guide: March 16 - 21, 2015
Our household worship this week is focused on biblical examples of meekness. We will watch different biblical characters model meekness. We will also see the ultimate example of meekness: Jesus Christ. Covered in his beauty, may we imitate his meekness.
Monday, March 16th Scripture: Abraham’s meekness, Genesis 13 Song: How Firm a Foundation vs. 1-2 pg. 4 Prayer: Pray that you would not grasp possessions, but trust in God’s promise the earth will be your inheritance.
Tuesday, March 17th Scripture: David’s meekness, I Samuel 24 Song: How Firm a Foundation vs. 3-4 pg. 4 Prayer: Pray that you would not grasp positions of power, but trust in God’s sovereign timing and will in your status, role, and place in life.
Wednesday, March 18th Scripture: Jesus’ meekness in laying aside His glory, Philippians 2:1-11 Song: It is Well with My Soul vs. 1-2 pg. pg. 5 Prayer: Pray that you would not act of selfish ambition or conceit, but follow Jesus in humility by counting others as more significant than yourselves. Pray that you would not only look after your own interests but also the interests of others.
Thursday, March 19th Scripture: Jesus’ meekness in accepting God’s sovereign plan, Matthew 26:36-46 Song: It is Well with My Soul vs. 3-4 pg. pg. 5 Prayer: Pray that you will trust God’s sovereign plan as Christ did. Pray that God’s will would be done in your life, no matter the cost to yourself, your reputation, etc.
Friday, March 20th Scripture: Jesus’ meekness in silence before His accusers and at the cross, Matthew 27:11-56 Song: ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus vs. 1-2 pg. 14 Prayer: Take time to worship Jesus the true King and creator of the world who was silent before his accusers with their false charges, and who took our sins upon Himself.
Saturday, March 21st Scripture: I Corinthians 15:1-28 Song: ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus vs. 3-4 pg. 14 Prayer: Praise Jesus that He has been raised from the dead, vindicated by God, and reigns over the earth. Praise Him that he will return to reign on the earth. Rejoice that the earth is currently Christ’s possession and that one day through Him it will be your inheritance.
