Redeemer's Volunteer Fair
DATE: Sunday, August 21st TIME: 10:00 - 10:50 a.m. PLACE: Redeemer Gymnasium
Why are we having a Volunteer Fair?
Redeemer considers itself to be a co-op church. This means that we employ relatively few staff and rely on volunteers to run the majority of our programs. Not only does this approach allow us to steward well the resources God has given us, but it encourages the church (YOU!) to be an integral part of its ministry. The Bible says that our faith will drive us to action, though that action will vary from person to person and season to season. Being a co-op church means that we not only encourage your participation in service, but very much rely on your willingness to volunteer.
What will the Volunteer Fair Involve?
First and foremost, the coffee and donuts will all be in the Gym. We've got your attention now, eh! But to the point, the fair will consist of about 15 booths throughout the Gym, each offering information about a volunteer opportunity (its frequency, duties, etc.). There will also be someone to chat with and a place to sign up if you're interested in learning more about a given ministry.
Who is the Volunteer Fair For?
The fair is for everyone who considers, or who would like to consider, Redeemer their church home. Not only do we rely on volunteers in our co-op model, but joining a ministry team has proven to be a great way to meet others in the church. Volunteering is also a way for us to follow the example of Jesus, the servant of all, and to express our thankfulness for the community we have here at 16th and Delaware. If nothing else, please simply come and chat with our ministry leaders about what God is doing in our church and perhaps how you might become a part of it.
So, mark your calendars and come mingle and learn about Redeemer's volunteer opportunities on August 21st in the Gym!
