New Hope Marriage Workshops: Recap

New Hope Counseling (Redeemer’s counseling service) held marriage enrichment workshops on three separate Friday nights during the months of September and October. Mike Spencer, a counselor who works with New Hope, led the couples through various marriage enrichment activities and spoke on six marriage topics. Those topics were, confession and forgiveness, relational growth, trust, love, handling differences, and protecting our marriages.

We received a lot of positive feedback on the workshop. Please consider if this is something your marriage might benefit from our next one of these in the future. There was a wide range of participants, from newlyweds to those who've been married a long time, including those in church leadership. Here is what a few people had to say about their experience:

“Highly insightful and encouraging information. Made us both think deeper about our marriage and each other. Uplifting.”

“Light bulbs for us were forgiveness, and being careful with each other by not trying to recreate ourselves in our partner.”

“I really appreciated the mirroring exercise that we did all three sessions.”

“We found ourselves incorporating [the mirroring exercise] into our day-to-day conversations.”
