Holy Week Prayers

This week we are meeting in the morning and evening for scripture and prayer. That is we will sing a hymn, pray through some selected liturgical prayers, have time for spontaneous response to our Father in prayer and be encouraged and prompted by the word to pray for specific things together.

Why are we doing this?

One of the huge things that happens when Jesus is raised from the dead is that a new family, a new nation is created. We gather twice a day during Holy Week to talk to our true Father together and the bond of fellowship increases as we get closer to Good Friday worship and culminates in the celebration and feasting of this new family together on Easter.

What are we learning about together?

Both services each day take us further along parallel journeys. One reading will be walking through the plagues that lead up to the liberation of the Israelites from their Egyptian slave masters. The other reading will be walking through the last week of Jesus life leading up to the liberation of God's Beloved from sin and death.
