The Shape of Messianic Hope
An Indianapolis Theological Seminary Spring Symposium
Many in the church today know that the New Testament writers frequently draw upon Isaiah to present Jesus as the Messiah, but few have taken time to explore how these messianic expectations fit within the book of Isaiah’s overarching message.
This spring, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Andrew Abernethy for a symposium on The Messiah in Isaiah. Dr. Abernethy is a respected Old Testament scholar and professor at Wheaton College whose teaching and writing focus especially on the book of Isaiah and the vision of a coming king.
In this lecture, Dr. Abernethy will invite us to see how Isaiah’s messianic hopes of a king, a suffering-priestly servant, and an eschatological prophet fit into Isaiah's vision of God’s kingdom and ultimately bear witness to Jesus.
Join us on April 23rd at 7:00PM at Redeemer Bible Church, 1360 Ray Crowe Way, Greenwood, IN 46143. Click below to join us for this free event and consider inviting friends, church members, small groups, and anyone eager to grow in their vision of Christ in the Old Testament.
