Amy Lurker
Amy Lurker grew up in Connecticut. Though she has lived in Indianapolis for decades, she still holds tightly to her Yankee roots. Amy and her husband, Drew, first came to Redeemer in 2012. They had struggled to connect at their previous church, so they loved how quickly they were able to connect at Redeemer. In addition to the community, Amy loves the art and beauty she encounters each week in the sanctuary.
Amy came to faith as a teenager. She feels called to the role of deaconess because of the diaconate’s call to mercy and justice. When she moved into the city her eyes were opened to the range of mercy and justice needs all around her. She is passionate about helping the church engage in this work.
In her free time, you can find Amy enjoying city parks with her two kids, finding new restaurants to try around town, and catching a good concert. Amy points out she is tall but never felt the need to play any sports where her height would have been an advantage.
